    Martineks Celebrate Golden Wedding
    Mr. and Mrs. Vince Martinek, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McDaniel and Gary of Silver Lake drove to Manhattan Sunday to join Mr. Mel Martinek and attend services at the First Methodist Church. Following the services, they went to dinner at Jensons Restaurant to honor Mr. and Mrs. Martinek's Golden Wedding Anniversary.

    Mr. and Mrs. Vince Martinek were married February 15, 1916, at Pawnee City, Nebraska. They have three children, Mr. Marvin Martinek of Arvada, Colo., Mrs. Marge McDaniel of Silver Lake, and Mr. Melvin Martinek of Manhattan. They have four grandchildren and one great grandson.

    Martineks Observe 60th Anniversary
    MR. AND MRS. VINCE MARTINEK observed their 60th wedding anniversary Sunday. They were married February 15, 1916 at Pawnee City, Nebr., and have lived all their 60 married years on a farm north of Silver Lake.

    They have three children: Marvin Martinek, Arvada, Colo.; Marjorie McDaniel, Silver Lake; and Melvin Martinek, Colby, Ks. They also have six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A family gathering was held for them over the Christmas holidays.

    Mr. and Mrs. Vince Martinek were honored over the holidays when they observed their 60th wedding anniversary, which will be February 15th. This was the first time in many years all the family could be together at the same time. Those attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Martinek and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Turner, Kevin and Kim, Arvada, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Kent Martinek, Ft. Collins, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Mel Martinek, Melany and Melinda, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Glenn, Chris and Angela, Detroit, Mich.; and Mr. md Mrs. William McDaniel and Gary of Silver Lake. The family had dinner at the Moose Lodge in Topeka on Saturday night, and Sunday dinner with an anniversary sake at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William McDaniel.

    VINCENT P. MARTINEK

    Vincent P. Martinek, 83, Silver Lake, died Sunday, February 27, 1977, in a Topeka hospital where he was admitted February 13 after he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage.

    He was born March 10, 1893, at Rossville and spent most of his life in Silver Lake community. He was a farmer.

    Mr. Martinek was a member of the United Methodist Church at Silver Lake and was a 50-year member of Delia Lodge No. 419, AF&AM, at Delia. He also was a member of Scottish Rite bodies in Topeka.

    He was married to Mary Dvorak February 15, 1916, at Pawnee City, Nebr. She survives.

    Other survivors include two sons, Marvin Martinek, Arvada, Colo., and Melvin Martinek, Colby; a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie McDaniel, Silver Lake; five brothers, Albert Martinek, Henry Martinek, Emil Martinek, and Bennie Martinek, all at Rossville, and Bill Martinek, Silver Lake; three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Kozak, Osage City, Mrs. Helen Macha, Council Grove, and Mrs. Mae Brown, Kansas City; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday (today) at Parker Mortuary. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery north of Silver Lake. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church at Silver Lake.
