    25TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
    Mr. and Mrs. Henry Martinek were pleasantly surprised Saturday evening when a group of friends and neighbors came in to help them celebrate their 25th Wedding Anniversary.

    They received many lovely gifts. Among them was a set of silverware from JoAnn and Mary.

    The evening was spent visiting and watching television. At a late hour, refreshments of home made ice cream and cake, sandwiches and ice tea were served.

    Vincent P. Martinek

    Vincent P. Martinek, 66, a retired employee with Federal Express of 20 years died Jan. 18, 2008, at his home in Topeka. Mr. Martinek was born July 22, 1941 in Rossville, the son of Henry and Regina Ryan Martinek. After retirement he worked part-time for Sams Club as a food demonstrator. He served in the Army and received a Purple Heart and various other awards.

    Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Lucy Martinek; a son John (Trish) Martinek of Silver Lake; two daughters, Joan Martinek, Lucy Ann (Mike) Droge of Topeka; and seven grandchildren.

    Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tues. Jan. 22, 2008, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5973 SW 25th Topeka, Ks, where a parish rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wed. at Christ the King Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
