    Mr. and Mrs. William Martinek will be the honored guests at an open house celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, August 8, in their home at Silver Lake.

    Friends and relatives are invited to attend from 2 till 4 p.m. The couple requests that no gifts be presented.

    Hosts will be their children, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Martinek, Rossville; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Martinek, Las Cruces, N.M.; Mr. and Mrs. Don Redmon, Topeka; and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Martinek, Silver Lake; and their thirteen grandchildren.

    Mr. and Mrs. Martinek were married September 8, 1926 in Topeka, and have lived in the Silver Lake-Delia Community all their married life.

    WILLIAM M. MARTINEK

    William M. Martinek, 82, Silver Lake, died Monday, September 14, 1981, at a Topeka hospital.

    He was born August 5, 1899, on a farm near Rossville, the son of Vince and Agnes Simecka Martinek. He lived in the Silver Lake and Rossville communities all of his life.

    Mr. Martinek owned and operated a service station in Silver Lake for 25 years and also farmed. He served on the Silver Lake Township Board for many years, was Silver Lake Township assessor and was sexton of Silver Lake Cemetery.

    He married Agnes Hromada September 8, 1926, in Topeka. She survives.

    Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Louise Redmon, Valley Falls; three sons, Orville Martinek, 4821 N.W. Hoch Road, William Martinek, Rossville, and Robert Martinek, Las Cruces, N. Mex.; three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Kozak, Osage City, Mrs. Mae Brown, Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Helen Macha, Council Grove; four brothers, Bennie Martinek, Emil Martinek, Henry Martinek and Albert Martinek, all of Rossville; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

    Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial was in Czech Moravian Cemetery, northeast of Rossville. The family met with friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Heart Association, 5229 S.W. 7th, Topeka, Ks. 66606.
