 | Obituary- Matyak, James 1 James Dale Matyak James Dale Matyak, 43, Rossville, died at his home Saturday, March 11,2000, from complications of a lung ailment.
He was born March 28,1956, in Wamego, the son of Joe W. and Edna Vavricek Matyak.
He had lived in the Rossville community all of his life, and was graduated from Rossville High School in 1974. He attended the Kaw Valley Vo-Tech School in Topeka and the Allis Chalmers Machinist Training School. Mr. Matyak was currently employed at Wehner’s True Value Hardware in Rossville. He had earlier worked for Sunflower Metal Products and Industrial Chrome, both in Topeka. He was a member of ZCBJ Lodge.
He was married to Yvette Smith. They were later divorced.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe W. Matyak.
Surviving him are a son, Jeramy Matyak, Rossville; his mother, Edna Matyak, Rossville; two sisters, Donna Johnson, Wamego, and Judy Brock, Topeka.
A family visitation was held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Piper Funeral Chapel in Rossville. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday (this afternoon) at the Czech-Moravan Cemetery north of Rossville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jeramy Matyak Educational Fund and sent in care of the Stockgrowers State Bank, Maple Hill 66507.

ROSSVILLE — James Dale Matyak, 43, Rossville, died of complications from a lung ailment Saturday, March 11,2000, at home.
He was born March 28,1956, in Wamego, to Joe W. and Edna Vavricek Matyak. He graduated from Rossville High School in 1974 and attended Kaw Valley Vocational-Technical School in Topeka and the Allis Chalmers Machinists Training School. He worked at Wehner’s True Value Hardware in Rossville. He had worked for Sunflower Metal Products and Industrial Chrome, both in Topeka. He spent most of his life in the Rossville community.

Survivors include a son, Jeramy Matyak, Rossville; his mother, Edna Vavricek Matyak, Rossville; and two sisters, Donna Johnson, Wamego, and Judy Brock, Topeka.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Czech-Moravian Cemetery north of Rossville. Mr. Matyak will lie in state from 2 to 7:30 p.m. today at Piper Funeral Chapel in Rossville, where visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
