• Documents		Obituary- Mauck, Nellie Nellie N. Mauck Nellie N. Mauck, 99, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Rossville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 29, 1914 in a sod house at Forgan, Oklahoma, the daughter of Walter Scott and Julia Mae Spruill Kennedy. She graduated from Our Lady of The Plains High School at Dodge City. Mrs. Mauck had lived in Silver Lake for many years. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Silver Lake and was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. On November 21,1936 she was united in marriage to David Harper Mauck at Topeka. He preceded her in death on January 5,1988. She was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Matthew Mauck in September of 2013. Survivors include two sons, Jake "Doug" (Janice) Mauck, Topeka and Michael "Dave" Mauck, Kansas City; a daughter, Sue (Larry) Wichman, Emmett; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Silver Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the 1st Baptist Church of Silver Lake and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, St. Marys. Online condolences may be sent to www.piperfuneralhome.com.
  		Birthday- Mauck, Nellie Nellie Mauck celebrated her 90th birthday as guest of honor at a family dinner on Sunday, April 25. Hosting the event were her children and their families - Jan and Doug Mauck, Topeka; Stephanie and Steve Mauck, Lyons; Sue and Larry Wichman, Emmett; and Mike Mauck, Kansas City. She has eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mauck was born April 29, 1914. She was married to David H. Mauck for 51 years until his death in 1988. They lived in the Grove and Silver Lake communities many years. Nellie Mauck Nellie Mauck will celebrate her 95th birthday at a reception from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Thornton Place.
