  Obituary- McCollough, Clyde Clyde McCollough Funeral services for Clyde McCollough were held last Thursday after noon at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian church with the pastor Rev. Ivan Rundus officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Mary Jane Berkey accompanied by Mrs. Lulu Rachel Hill. Pallbearers were: John Davis, Joe Gresser, Marvin Davis, Laverne Spears, Howard French, and Clifford Cormack. Burial in Rossville cemetery. Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Elsie McCollough, his brother Fred McCollough, Jr., four aunts, Mrs. Ray Parr, Sister Mary of St. Amelia of Memphis, Tenn.; Mrs. Olive McCartney of Chanute; and Mrs. Flora Mills of Ca.; and 3 uncles, F.P. McCollough, Phillip Immenschuh, Harold Immenschuh, and grandmother, Mrs. Amelia Immenschuh and nieces and nephews. Clyde McCollough Killed In Collision It was a terrible shock to the people of this community when the news was received of the death of Clyde McCollough early Monday evening. "Salty", a nick-name attached to Clyde when a youngster, is better known to his friend and acquaintances than his given name. He was enroute to Topeka about 6:30 Monday evening when a collision with a westbound car from Kansas City, occurred a short distance east of the Menoken road on Highway 40. Bob Rawlings, local businessman, enroute to Independence stopped as he passed the scene and gave a helping hand. He identified Clyde. It took some time for an ambulance to arrive but Clyde passed away enroute to a hospital. The others injured in the crash were Mr. and Mrs. William Donigan and their three children. Mr. Donigan suffered a chest injury and injuries to his right hip. A son Jimmy 6, had a fractured leg. Mrs. Donigan suffered from shock and injuries to her jaw and forehead. The other children suffered only minor injuries. The family was headed for Greenleaf, Ks. to spend Christmas. Clyde, a part owner of the Massey-Harris store in Rossville was noted as a rustler and had a wide acquaintance among farmers. He was also owner of Mack's Bar-B-Q. Educated in the Rossville schools, he graduated from RHS in 1931. Following a few years as operator of an implement store at Alma, services at the Air Force Supply depot at Topeka during World War II, he returned to Rossville to be a partner with Henry Cerny as Massey-Harris district distributing center. Later, Cerny sold his interests to McCollough and LaVerne Spears, the present owners. "Salty" was extremely popular and a hustler after business. He was born in this community, January 24, 1912, and did just a few days short of his 39th anniversary.
