    Andrew G. ‘Pete’ McConnell
    WAMEGO — Andrew G. "Pete"
    McConnell, 86, Wamego, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1993, at a Westmoreland nursing home.

    Mr. McConnell was a construction worker before he retired.

    He was born Oct. 16, 1906, in St.
    Marys, the son of George and Minnie
    Rose St. Aubion McConnell. He lived in the Rossville and St. Marys areas until 10 years ago when he moved to Wamego.

    Survivors include two daughters, Mary Kay Niedfeldt, Wamego, and Gerry Sue Hurst, Rogers, Ky.; two sons, Andrew George "Mac" McConnell, Springdale, Ark., and William McConnell, in Arkansas; two sisters, Doris Kietzman, Topeka, and Genevieve Carney, Cleveland, Ohio; six grandchildren; and three great-grand¬children.

    Services will be at 10 a m. Thursday at Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mr. McConnell will lie in state after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

    Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
