anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Richard J. McCoy of Delia were honored with a basket dinner at their home Sunday, March 22, in observance of their 67th wedding anniversary. Their wedding anniversary was March 20.
Present were Mrs. Zita Allen Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Burgett, Gary, Terry, Greg of Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Mulinax and Donnie of Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Dolkrman and Miss Dorothy and Miss Peggy Sheapard of St. Marys; Mr. and Mrs. Francis Hanrahan, Pat and Marlene, Patricia Allen and Mrs. Mary Hanrahan of Delia.
Mr. and Mrs. McCoy received several nice gifts and many cards and they want to thank all those who remembered them.

Mrs. Birdie McCoy, 94, Delia, died Sunday in a St. Marys rest home.
She was born June 2, 1874, at Meadville, Missouri, and moved to Hoyt in 1880. She spent most of her life in Jackson county. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church at Delia and the Altar Society at the church. She also was a member of the Manhattan Lodge of Royal Neighbors of America.
She was married to Richard McCoy March 20, 1892. He died November 5, 1959. A daughter, Sarah McCoy, died in 1924 and a son, John McCoy, died in 1952.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Helen Buckles and Mrs. Veronica (Vera) Bunting, both of Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. Mary Hanrahan, Delia; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Delia. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys.

Mrs. Birdie McCoy, Delia, a resident of St. Marys Manor the past year, died on Sunday. She was 95 years old.
She was born June 2, 1873, at Meadville, Mo., and moved to Hoyt in 1880; most of her life was spent in Jackson County. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Delia, the Altar Society of the church, and was a member of the Manhattan Lodge, Royal Neighbors of America.
