| Obituary- McDiffett, Raymond Raymond L. McDiffett
JUNCTION CITY — Raymond L. McDiffett, 73, Junction City, died Wednesday, May 1, 1996, at a Junction City hospital.
Mr. McDiffett was a transportation warehouse supervisor at Fort Riley for 24 years before he retired in 1987. He served in the Army from 1942 to 1946.
He was born July 30, 1922, in Geary County, the son of Lorenzo W. "Pat'’ and Arnolla K. Fisher McDiffett.
Mr. McDiffett was a member of First Christian Church and past commander of Post No. 45 of the American Legion and 40 et 8 Voiture No. 1029, all at Junction City.
He was married to Mildred E. Chitty on March 3, 1947, in Geary County. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Judy E, Kramps, Olathe; two sons, Raymond L. McDiffett, Craig, Colo., and Rodney K. McDiffett, Edgerton; three brothers, Ellie McDiffett, Overland Park, Earl McDiffett, Rossville, and Arnold McDiffett, Topeka; two sisters, Carol Peters and Joann Evans, both of Dwight; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church at Junction City. Burial will be in Welcome Cemetery in Geary County. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Mass-Hinitt-Alexander Funeral Home at Junction City. Memorial contributions may be made either to the First Christian Church at Junction City of to 40 et 8 Voiture No. 1029 Nurses Training Program and sent in care of the funeral home.
