    CLAIR LAMAR McGINNIS
    Clair Lamar McGinnis, oldest son of Steven and Elsie McGinnis, was born August 30, 1929, at Lebanon, Ks., and departed this life on December 22, 1978, in an accident near Durant, Miss.

    His childhood was spent in the Mankato, Esbon and Webber communities

    He enlisted in the Marine Corps at an early age and served in Korea. He was an active member of both the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Illinois.

    He was baptised in the Wapella,
    Illinois Christian Church on April 12,
    1973.

    He was married to Mary C. Monahan in 1951. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mary, of the home in Wapella, Ill., and the following children: Edith Melville, Middletown, N.Y.; Michael McGinnis, Topeka; Susan Brown, Jacksonville, Ill.; Thomas McGinnis, Bloomington, Ill.; Colleen McGinnis, Jacksonville, Ill.; Carol McGinnis, Topeka; and Peggy and Peter McGinnis of the home. He also leaves six grandchildren; two brothers, Nolan McGinnis, Rossville, and Wayne McGinnis, El Paso, Tex., and their families.

    His mother and two infant sons preceded him in death.
