    Willcoxen-McGuire Vows February 25
    Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Willcoxen, of Lewiston, Ill., announce the marriage of their daughter, Cleona, to Mr. Edward L. McGuire, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Rossville.

    The ceremony took place at 3:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon, February 25, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, Mo., with the Rev. A. Milton Smith officiating.

    Miss Virginia Willcoxen, of LaSalle, Ill., sister of the bride, was mid of honor, and Mr. Vincent P. Heim, of Topeka, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, acted as best man.

    Mrs. McGuire is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene College and formerly taught in the Wright School at Canton, Ill. For the last three years she has been employed by the Kansas City Weather Bureau.

    Mr. McGuire is a graduate of the Rossville High School and of Emporia State Teachers College. He taught at Auburn and other Shawnee county schools. He now is a meteorologist at the United States Weather Bureau in Kansas City, Mo.

    Following a honeymoon trip, Mr. and Mrs. McGuire will be at home at 7412 El Monte Road in Mission, Kansas.

    Edward L. McGuire
    Edward L. McGuire, 80, Prairie Village, formerly of Shawnee County, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1992, at a Merriam medical center.

    Mr. McGuire was a meteorologist for 33 years for the National Weather Service in Kansas City. His last years of employment were at the National Severe Storms Forecast Center before he retired in 1975.

    He was born Dec. 21, 1911, in May town, Ky., the son of Charles M. and Edna Washburn McGuire. He was graduated from Shawnee County schools and from Emporia State Teachers College in 1940. He taught in Shawnee County schools while he attended college. He lived in the Kansas City area since 1947.

    Mr. McGuire was a member of First
    Church of the Nazarene of Kansas City and Shawnee-Mission Color Slide club. He also was a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels at the Shepherds Center.

    He was married to Cleona Wilcox on Feb. 25, 1950. She survives.

    Other survivors include two sons,
    Robert E. McGuire, Lenexa, and Dr. Brian McGuire. Thousand Oaks, Calif.

    Services will be at 10 a m. Friday in the Church of the Nazarene of Kansas City. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Rossville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 until 8 p.m. today at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene of Kansas City Building Fund or Cancer Action.
