    Last Friday was the 35th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Vorhies and that evening a few friends walked in and surprised them. The evening was spent in playing games and having a general good time. After refreshments of cake and ice cream were served the guests departed wishing Mr. and Mrs. Vorhies many happy returns of the day. The guests present were: Mr. and Mrs. Elton Vorhies, Rev. A.J. Crawford, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Kassebaum, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Bradley, Mr. and Mrs. John Reid, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Yocum, Mr. and Mrs. Abner Cless, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Binns, Mr. and Mrs. W.V.     Mr. and Mrs. Charley Vorhies were guests of honor at a wedding anniversary dinner, Saturday, at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Blanche Driscoll, at Silver Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Vorhies were presented a large wedding cake and friends were invited in and served to ice cream and cake. This was the 53rd wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Vorhies.

    Mr. and Mrs. Charley Vorhies were pleasantly reminded of their 54th wedding anniversary, Monday March 30, when Mrs. Beth Hartzell presented them with a lovely cake as an anniversary token of friendship.

    Mr. and Mrs. Charley Vorhies entertained dinner guests last Thursday evening in honor of their 62nd wedding anniversary. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Allyn Hartzell, June and Kay; Morris BOnd, Mrs. W.E. Ellis, Mrs. Beulah McIntyre, Mr. and Mrs. Vorhies.

    MARRIED 63 YEARS
    Mr. and Mrs. Charey Vorhies will
    have been married sixty-three years Friday of this week, March 30.

    Living here all their lives since their marriage except for excursions to California at various times for short sojourns, Mr. and Mrs. Vorhies are enjoying fairly good health and remain active in their church and lodge circles. They will spend the day quietly at home. Mr. Vorhies still is one of the best gardeners in Rossville and always has
    a well-kept lawn. Mr. and Mrs. Vorhies have two daughters, Mrs. Blanch Driscoll of Topeka and Mrs. Beulah McIntyre of the home.

    Best wishes to this fine couple of Rossville citizens.

    Mrs. Beulah V. McIntyre, 94, Rossville, died Thursday, December 20, 1979, at her home of natural causes.

    She was born October 5, 1885, at Rossville, the daughter of Charles and Samantha Miller Vorhies.

    Mrs. McIntyre lived in California from 1905 until 1954 when she returned to Rossville. While living in California she operated a tea room during the winter and managed a gift shop in Jackson Hole, Wyo., during the summer.

    She was a life member of Amaryllis Chapter No. 321, Order of Eastern Star, Rossville.

    Survivors include several cousins.

    Graveside services were at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Rossville Cemetery. Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Jimmy Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion, Rossville, in care of the funeral home.

    ROSSVILLE Graveside services and burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Rossville Cemetery for Mrs. Beulah V. McIntyre, 94, Rossville, who died Thursday at her home.

    She was born Oct. 5, 1885, at Rossville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vorhies.

    Mrs. McIntyre lived in California from 1905 until she returned here in 1954. While she was in California, she operated a tea room there in the winter and managed a gift shop in Jackson Hole, Wyo., in the summer.

    She was a life member of Amaryllis Chapter No. 321, Order of Eastern Star.

    Several cousins survive.

    Mrs. McIntyre will lie in state at the Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made to Jimmy Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion in care of the funeral home.
