    G.L. “Jerry” Albright, 81, Hoyt, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at a Topeka hospital.
    Mr. Albright farmed and raised cattle west of Hoyt for many years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He served in the Pacific and was stationed at Pearl Harbor.
    He was born July 27, 1918, in Palmer, the son of Ben and Jesse Owens Albright. He graduated from Hoyt High School in 1936.
    Mr. Albright was a member of Grahem-Herbers Post No. 3084 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Valley Falls.
    He married Virginia Hartman on May 19, 1941. She survives.
    Other survivors include four sons, Corky Albright, Delia, Darrel Albright and Bill Albright, both of Topeka, and Steve Albright, Hoyt; two daughters, Debbie Simecka, Topeka, and Mary Jo Wahweottten, Ottawa; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
    His service is Tuesday (today) at10:30 a.m. at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Hoyt. Burial with military honors conducted by Post No. 3084 will be in Hoyt Cemetery. There was a family visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Grahem-Herbers Post No. 3084 of the VFW and sent in care of the funeral home.
