    GERALD McNeive
    Gerald (Jerry) McNeive, 76, passed away Sunday, December 31, 1978, at his home ,9113 Brownridge Drive, St. Louis (Overland), Mo. 63114. He had cancer. Burial was from Our Lady of Presentation Catholic Church in St. Louis at 10 a.m., January 3, 1979. Services were conducted by the Reverend Charles O’Neil, brother of Mrs. McNeive. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Louis.

    He is survived by his wife, Ann O’Neil McNeive; one son, Gerald, Jr., Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Mary Ann Goedeker, St. Louis; three brothers; Harry, Independence, Mo., Cletus, Springfield, Mo., James, California; one sister, Marietta, Kansas City, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

    He was born in the Cross Creek area between Delia and Emmett, the son of James and Cora Mulligan McNeive. He resided in St. Marys from 1917 when he entered high school at St. Mary’s College until he graduated from St. Mary’s College in 1925 with a B. S. degree. During his school days in St. Marys, he will be remembered for his athletic ability, particularly for his part on the town baseball team. During this time he was also a member of the first unit of the Kansas National Guard located in St. Marys.

    After finishing college he went to St. Louis and began work with the South¬western Bell Telephone Company where he remained until he retired several years ago. He and Ann had just returned from a company-sponsored trip to England, Ireland, and Scotland in October of this year when he suddenly became ill.
