| Obituary- McNeive, Myrtle Myrtle M. McNeive
ST. MARYS — Services will be at
11 a m. today at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Emmett for Myrtle M. McNeive, 89, Emmett. She died Tuesday, April 19, 1994, at a St. Marys nursing home.
Mrs. McNeive was a teacher and postmistress. She taught school 24 years, beginning in 1925 at the Longbranch School. She taught eight years in a one-teacher school and then was principal of Emmett Grade School for 16 years. She was postmistress of the Emmett Post Office from 1956 to 1974.
She was born Sept. 18, 1904, in Mayetta, the daughter of William David and Jeanette Harrington Cox. She was graduated from Emmett High School in 1924.
Mrs. McNeive was a member of Holy Cross Church and the Altar Society at the church in Emmett, the Delta Kappa Gamma social sorority, Jolly Workers in Emmett, Emmett Senior Citizens, Emmett Service Club and the National Association of Postmasters, Retired.
She was married to Francis J. McNeive on June 18, 1930, in Emmett. He died March 4, 1967. A son, Ted J. McNeive, died April 14, 1990.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary J. "Teta" Dougherty, Overland Park; two sisters, Anna Whittington, Mayetta, and Almeda Salisbury, St. Marys; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Church in Emmett or to the Community Hospice at St. Marys.
