    DELIA BOY KILLED
    IN AUTOMOBILE CRASH
Paul Louis Lacock, 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lacock, living 4 miles north of Delia on the E. H. Springer farm, was instantly killed about 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon, when he was crushed by a tank, filled with water, which was being trucked to the Zirkle pasture near Delia. The accident occurred about a mile south of the boy’s home, on the main highway.

Henry Oldfield and Robert Hardin of Rossville, in the Hardin car drove out of a side road in front of the truck and the driver, was unable to stop and the truck turned over. Other occupants of the truck were the parents of the dead boy, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lacock and three other of their children

The parents were painfully bruised. Another child, Donald 3, was caught under the steering wheel of the truck, and so badly cut forty-four stitches were taken. Robert 12, and Gerald 5, were uninjured.

Neither the Oldfield boy nor young Hardin had drivers licenses it is alleged. Jackson county authorities were here early this week investigating to see what steps the authorities should take.

Paul was born June 15, 1936, near Delia. He is a second cousin of William, Albert and Charles Bixby and Mrs. John Rouse of this community.

He attended Delia grade school until he reached the 6th grade and during the past term attended Adrian school. He was a member of the St. Marys Methodist church.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, August 6, in the Delia Presbyterian church., com. ducted by Rev. Bruce W. Davis.

The pall bearers were, Laverne Zlatnik, Frank Keller, Clyde Gardner, Jack Grace, Melvin Wehner and Herschell Bauer.

Interment was in the Rossville cemetery.
