Mrs. Lorraine Patton announces the marriage of her daughter, Hope, to Mr. Charles Meade, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Meade of this city.
The marriage took place Tuesday morning, June 4th, at 9 o'clock at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. The Rev. Father John A. Berens, S.J. officiated.
Miss Nora Dell Patton was the bridesmaid, and Mr. John Foresman, of Wamego, was best man.
The bride's dress was powder [missing] sheer satin stripe Ninon crepe, with blue accessories. She wore a corsage of pink snapdragons. The bridesmaid wore a dress of pink sheer satin crepe Ninon and crepe, with pink accessories and a corsage of snapdragons.
Mrs. Meade received her education in Rossville, graduating from grade and high school. She is also a graduate from the Stewart Beauty Academy of Topeka. She passed the State Board of Cosmotology at Topeka and worked in the Winn Beauty Shop for about fifteen months. She is operator in the Kut and Kurl Beauty Shop in her home on South Navarre Street in Rossville.
Mr. Meade was educated in Rossville. Mr. and Mrs. Meade will be at home to their friends in the Dave Jeffries cottage on South Navarre Street.

Charles U. Meade, 88, Rossville, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at the Rossville Healthcare Center.
He was born June 9, 1918, at Wakeana, Okla., the son of Grant and Amy Steffee Meade. He moved to the Rossville community at an early age and attended school there. Mr. Meade served in the United States Navy.
Charles was a heavy equipment operator and had worked construction for many years. He was a member of the Catholic faith. He also was a member of Jimmy Lillard Post No. 31 for 49 years, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 15017 and the Hoisting and Portable Union No. 101 out of Kansas City.
On June 4, 1940, he was united in marriage to Abca Hope Patton at St. Marys. She died March 14,2004. Mr. Meade was also preceded in death by a grandson, Dwight Meade in. July 1971.
Survivors include a son, Charles (Patti) Meade Jr., Rossville; a granddaughter, Tonya (Brian) Hatina, Rossville; a grandson, Jared Meade, Topeka and two great granddaughters, Erika and Emily.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, June 2, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville.
Interment was in the Rossville Cemetery.
