    John Leslie Milbradt
    John Leslie Milbradt, 85, Topeka, died Wednesday, Dec. 16,1998, at a Topeka nursing home.

    Mr. Milbradt was a salt miner and had worked for the Independent Salt Co. at Kanopolis for 40 years before he retired. He and his wife later owned and operated the Ellsworth Flower and Gift Shop and Irene’s From Dreams to Teens Clothing Store, both in Ellsworth. He and his wife also owned and operated the Ramada Inn Gift shop in Topeka for six years.

    He was born Jan, 24, 1913, in Ellsworth County, the son of Amel and Pearl Bryan Milbradt. He was graduated from Kanopolis High School, and he moved to Topeka from Ellsworth in 1985.

    Mr. Milbradt was a member of the Ellsworth Presbyterian Church.

    He was married to Irene Jantz on Aug. 7, 1946. She survives.

    Other survivors include three daughters, Evelyn Bush, Rossville, Shelley Bryan, Topeka, and JoAnn Unruh, Sharon Springs; two brothers, Joe Milbradt, Salina, and Eugene Milbradt, Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Margaret Lytle, Blue Springs, Neb., and Patricia Bray, in Texas; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

    Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rossville Christian Church in Rossville. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Milbradt will lie in state after 1 p.m. today at Parker-Price Mortuary where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.
