Earl D. Miller, 88, 1305 W. 22nd, died Tuesday at a Topeka hospital.
He was born Feb. 20, 1891, at Rossville, the son of Dr. Henry and Ella Miller, and lived at Topeka and Rossville all his life.
Mr. Miller retired from the Kansas Highway Department in 1961.
He was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church, and past president of American War Dads, both at Topeka, past master of Hesperian Lodge No. 111, AF&AM, and Amaryllis Chapter No. 321 of the Order of the Eastern Star, both at Rossville, and York Rite Bodies, Topeka.
He was married to Esther Ward June 2, 1909, at Kiro. She died Dec. 3, 1973.
He also was preceded in death by two sons, Ralph Miller and Henry Miller, in 1922.
Survivors include three sons, Earl W. Miller, 1923 Central Park, Donald Miller, Crawford, Colo., and Clyde Miller, Rossville; one daughter, Mrs. Ella Howey, Wichita; 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Parker Price Mortuary, Topeka. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery northwest of Topeka.
