Miss Dorotha Pearl Rose of St. Marys Kansas, and Mr. Earl Ward Miller, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl D. Miller of this community, were united in marriage Friday, March 1, by the Rev. D.H. Fisher, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Manhattan. The wedding took place at the residence of the pastor, 1735 Fairview at 9:30 p.m.
The bride's gown was of soft pink georgette crepe and lace. The groom wore the conventional navy blue.
Both are graduates of Rossville high school with the class of '28. Mr. Miller has just completed the first year's short course at Manhattan. He is now employed by his uncle, Dr. H.B. Miller. |

Earl Ward Miller, 70, 1923 Central Park, Topeka, died Saturday, May 9, 1981, at his home after a long illness.
He was born September 7, 1910, in Delia, the son of Earl D. and Esther Ward Miller.
Mr. Miller was a graduate of Rossville High School, and was an employee of Hercules Powder Company at the Sunflower Ordinance Works. He retired in 1973.
He was a member of the University United Methodist Church, serving as trustee board chairman and Sunday school superintendent, and a member of the Golden Rule Lodge No. 90, AF&AM, and Carpenter’s Union Local 714.
He was active in Boy Scout activities, receiving its highest honor, the Silver Beaver award, and also was the recipient of an award for his youth work in the church.
He married Dorotha P. Rose on March 1, 1929, at Manhattan. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ann Miles and Mrs. Delores Pagel, Topeka, and Mrs. Alice Kay Laufenberg, Bellevue, Nebr.; three sons, Robert L. Miller, Richard Miller, and Ralph Miller, all of Topeka; two brothers, Clyde Miller, Rossville, and Donald R. Miller, Crawford, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Ella Howey, Wichita; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wed¬nesday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Services will be at 9:30 am. Wednesday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Miller will lie in stale after noon Monday at the mortuary.
