- It seems they divorced-- Bertha is referred to as divorced, then later as a widow in the 1909 scandal with marrying W.J. Kirkpatrick.
Lambotte and Lambert are used interchangeably quite a bit in this time period, but I think I got these all sorted out for now!

| Obituary- Lambotte, Gustave Gustave John Lambotte
Gustave John Lambotte was born at Bonde, Belgium, May 25, 1867. At the age of six months his parents came to the United States, where they settled in Saline county Kansas. Most of his childhood days were spent around Brookville, Kan.
At the age of 21 he came to Rossville, where he was married to Bertha Mitchell, who preceded him in death two years ago.
He spent a number of years in this community. During the last ten years he has resided at his home at 234 South Front Street, Salina. He passed away September 8, 1933, at Salina.
He is survived by one son, William of Silver Lake; two grandchildren Herbert and Maud of Silver Lake; five brothers, Joseph Lambotte of Wichita, Kansas; Ed Lambotte of Topeka, Kansas; Leogard Lambotte, of Dover, Kansas; Alfred Lambotte and Henry Lambotte of Rossville; and three sisters, Mrs. Odelia Mitchell, of Delia, Kansas; Mrs. Rosa Hewitt of Braymer, Mo.; and Mrs. Sarah Dargan, of Kansas City, Kan.
The body was brought to Rossville last Saturday and funeral services were held at the Methodist church, Sunday afternoon, in charge of Rev. Horton. Music was furnished by a quartet of ladies including Mrs. E.G. Griswold, Mrs. Arthur Wallerstedt, Mrs. E.E. Witter and Mrs. Horton, with Miss Lucille Griswold at the piano. Pallbearers were C.E. Cless, Walter Cless, E.G. Griswold, Ira Hopkins, Joe Shenk and James B. Davis. Burial was in the Rossville cemetery.
