    Mrs. Crystal W. Mitchell
    Mrs. Crystal W. Mitchell, 85, 6846 N.W. 70th, died Wednesday, June 26, at a Rossville nursing home.

    Mrs. Mitchell taught in Covert schools several years. She moved in 1934 to Washington, D.C. where she held a federal job for two years. She moved to Topeka where she was a statistician for Kansas State Department of Labor 30 years before she retired in 1965.

    She was born Aug. 6, 1899, at Garden City, the daughter of A.C. and Florence Jane Liggett Wheeler. She was graduated from Washburn University where she was a member of Delta Gamma social sorority.

    Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Bethel Community Church and Bethel Community Club.

    She was married to Laurence Mitchell Feb. 6, 1965, at Topeka. He survives.

    Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Lucile Stevens Hartsfield, Anadarko, Okla.

    Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery northwest of Topeka.
