the Ted Mitchells
Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Mitchell will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Saturday, August 23,1986, with a reception at 8 p.m., followed by a dance from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. at the Rossville American Legion building.
Hosts are the couple’s children, Daryl and Shirley Mitchell, Rossville; Diana and Harry Magee, Kansas City, Mo.; Dale and Debby Upton, Silver Lake; and Darwin Mitchell, Chattanooga, Tenn.
Friends and relatives of the couple are invited to attend.

ROSSVILLE — Mrs. Honora Agnes
“Nora” Mitchell, 63, Rossville, died Sunday, June 9, 1991, at a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Mitchell was food service director for Rossville schools 24 years.
She was born June 30, 1927, in Paxico, the daughter of Peter and Maybelle Weis Karnowski.
Mrs. Mitchell was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville and a charter member and past president of the American Legion auxiliary in Rossville.
She was married to Theodore O. “Ted” Mitchell Aug. 19, 1946, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Daryl Mitchell, Rossville, and Darwin Mitchell, Fort Payne, Ala.; two daughters, Debby Kisner, Silver Lake, and Diana Magee, Kansas City, Mo.; five brothers, James Karnowski, Texarkana, Ark., Steve Karnowski, El Cajon, Calif., Dave Karnowski, Emmett, Charles Karnowski, Kansas City, Kan., and Phillip Karnowski, Wamego; two sisters, Mary Dinkel, Topeka, and Virginia Billings, Bonner Springs; and nine grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Mitchell will lie in state after noon today at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville.
