  		Anniversary- Mitchell, William and Eliza 59th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY FOR ROSSVILLE COUPLE Mr. and Mrs. William Mitchell of this city will have been wedded 59 years next Saturday, March 22nd. They have not planned any especial celebration for the unusual event. These kindly old folk were joined in wedlock at Marathon, Claremont county, Ohio, March 22, 1865, in the closing months of the civil war. A long period of this wedded life has been spent in this vicinity. Of the seven children born to Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell, only one, Mr. Tom Mitchell has passed away. The surviving children are three sons and three daughters, all of whom live in communities close to Rossville. They are Mrs. Joe Dean, of Rossville, Mrs. Robert Owens and Mrs. Bertha Kirkpatrick, of Topeka, Mr. W. H. Mitchell and Mr. Charles Mitchell of the Delia neighborhood, and Mr. Ike Mitchell of Silver Lake. Mrs. Mitchell is still very active and in good health, but “Dad” as he is more familiarly known to his old friends, is beginning to bow down to his great age, although he still is able to make an occasional trip down

  Obituary- Mitchell, Isaac Isaac H. Mitchell Services for Isaac H. Mitchell, 8S, a Silver Lake resident who died Friday at a Topeka nursing home, were at 1:30 pm Monday at the Parker mortuary with burial in the Silver Lake cemetery. Mr. Mitchell was born at Batavia Ohio, and moved to Rossville at the age of 18, spending the rest of his life in the Rossville and Silver Lake communities. He was a retired farmer; his wife, Mrs. Lucy Mitchell, died May 23, 1952. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lulu Holcomb of Rossville; two sons, Wayne H. Mitchell of Rossville and Lawrence S. Mitchell of Silver Lake; one grandson; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Alma Dean of Rossville and a brother, Charles Mitchell of Waukesha, Wisconsin.
