    No invitations are being sent, but friends and relatives are invited to call at the Rossville Community Center between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m., Sunday, April 30. The couple ask that no gifts be presented.

    Mr. Mitchell was a farmer and stockman in the Delia community before he retired.

    William G. Mitchell, Sr.
    William G. “Bill” Mitchell, Sr., 76, Rossville, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at his home.

    He was born November 9, 1925, in Delia, the son of Earl C. and Clara E. Mahon Mitchell.

    He grew up in the Delia community, and lived in the Rossville community the past two years. He attended Stach School and was graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1944. He was a farmer and had lived most of his life in the Delia community until he moved to Rossville. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Rossville.

    He married Gertrude Dennis on April 26, 1948 in Alma. She survives. A son, Dennis Ray Mitchell, died in 1950.

    Other survivors include two daughters, Patricia Saracyewski, Topeka, and Donna Conley, Hoyt; three sons, William Mitchell, Jr., Meriden, Dennis Mitchell. Harrodsburg, KY, and Christopher Mitchell, Delia; a sister, Maureen Wilson, O’Fallon, IL; a brother, Jack Mitchell, Delia: 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

    Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Rossville. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery. A rosary was recited at Piper Funeral Chapel, Rossville, at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

    Memorials may be made to the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church building fund and sent in care of the funeral chapel.

    ROSSVILLE—William G. “Bill" Mitchell Sr., 76, Rossville, died Tuesday, May 14,2002, at his home.

    Mr. Mitchell was a farmer in Delia.

    He was born Nov. 9,1925, at Delia, the son of Earl C. and Clara E. Mahon Mitchell. He grew up in the Delia community, attended Stach School and graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1944. He lived in the Delia community until moving to Rossville about two years ago.

    Mr. Mitchell was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville.

    He married Gertrude Dennis on April 26,1948, at Alma. She survives of the home.

    Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Ray Mitchell, in 1950.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Piper Funeral Chapel in Rossville is in charge of arrangements.

    The family suggests memorial contributions to the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church building fund, which may be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
