    DAVE LANDIS DEAD
David F. Landis, passed away very suddenly Monday afternoon at his home in Silver Lake.

He was downtown at the Lake only a short time before he died and at that time complained of a tight feeling under his heart. He went home and fixed up a dose of soda, sat down and expired in his chair.

Mr. Landis was widely known in the Rossville community having made his home here many years before moving to a farm near Silver Lake.

He was a native of Dauphin county, Pennsylvania, where he was born August 20, 1869 and on the date of his death was 59 years, 4 months and 6 days old. He came to Kansas in the spring of 1880 and settled near Silver Lake. He was married to Lizzie Shenk in 1898 and two children were born to them. They are a son Frank of the home address and a daughter, Mrs. Loma Hudson, of Topeka, who with his wife survive.

Funeral services were held in the Silver Lake Baptist church, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. G. G. Horne of Topeka conducted the services. Burial was in the Silver Lake cemetery.
