Orville K. Landon, 79, Holton, died Sunday, Jan. 19, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Landon was a bookkeeper for Haubold-Clark Chevrolet Co. at Holton 26 years before he retired. Previously he was a schoolteacher 12 years at Delia and in other Jackson County schools.
He was born Dec. 5, 1906, at Mayetta, the son of William E. and Mabel Durkee Landon. He spent most of his life in the Holton community.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Holton Lodge No. 42, AF&AM, and a member and past patron of Columbian Chapter No. 152, Order of Eastern Star, all at Holton. He was a 33rd-degree Mason, a member of Topeka Consistory of Scottish Rite bodies at Topeka, and a past commander of York Rite bodies at Hiawatha.
He was married to Abbie May Johnson April 23. 1927, at Holton. She died June 27, 1985.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Juanita Kingsborough, Tempe. Ariz.; a brother, Clyde Landon, Mayetta; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a m. Tuesday at Mercer Funeral Home, Holton. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church at Holton and sent in care of Kansas State Bank at Holton, 66436.
