    Obituary
Frank Lane was born at Marysville, Kansas, March 10, 1878 and died in Rossville, Kansas, Thursday, 10 a.m., December 7, 1922, being 44 years, 8 months and 27, of age.

He was the son of Edward and Hannah Lane both of whom are deceased.

He came to Rossville with his mother at the age of 15 years, and was employed in a barber shop in Rossville, until he was 21 years of age, when he moved to Topeka. He resided there several years and then moved to Kansas City. He was married to Ophelia Willey, October 30, 1917, residing in Kansas City until September 17, 1922 when he and his wife came to Rossville with the hope that he might regain his health.

Mr. Lane had been sick since a year ago last August. He was a patient sufferer, never once complained and was always entertaining the hope that he would get well, but in spite of all that human hands could do, the spirit took its departure.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his beloved wife, Mrs. Ophelia Lane, one daughter, Lucile, of Los Angeles, Calif., one sister, Anna Boyle, of Marion, Nebraska, four brothers, Charles and Edward of Brooklyn, N.Y., Joe of Laramie, Wyo., and Andrew of Small, Idaho. He is also survived by a step mother, Mrs. Anna Lane of Wichita, Kansas, two step-sisters, and one step-brother, Mrs. Mamie Jamieson of Wanette, Okla., Miss Emma Butler and William Butler of Wichita, Kan.

While Frank Lane had been away from this community a number of years, he will be remembered by many of the older residents of this community, who share in sympathy with the bereaved.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, at 2 o'clock from the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Basquin. Interment made in the Rossville cemetery.
