    Carl Lasswell Died in France
This entire community was shocked yesterday when a telegram to the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Lasswell, announced the death of Corporal Carl Lasswell in France on Oct. 9. His death was caused by bronchial pneumonia.

Corporal Lasswell entered the service on Saturday, May 25th, entraining at Topeka and sent to Camp Funston. Sometime later he was transferred to Florida into the motor transport service, in Motor Truck Co. 465, Motor Supply Train 417, which sailed for France in August and landed between Sept. 1 and 5. A bright and cheery letter was printed in these columns on Sept 5 and mailed Sept 9.

Carl's is the third death among our Rossville boys in the army and the family have the heartfelt sympathy of the community in their great bereavement.
