    Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Stalker of this city announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Beth, to Mr. Streight Lauck, son of Mr. and Mrs. I.S. Lauck, of Willard, Kan.

    The wedding, which will take place Saturday afternoon, August 14, at the home of Mr. Lauck's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. A.A. Lauck will be of interest to the many friends of the young couple.

    Mr. Lauck was graduated in June from Washburn college. He and his bride will make their home temporarily in Palo Alto, Cal., where he will attend the Leland Stanford graduate school of business.

    Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Stalker of Rossville, announce the marriage of their daughter, Beth, to Mr. Streight Lauck. son of Mr. and Mrs. I. S. Lauck of Willard.

    The wedding was quietly solemnized Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock at the home of the bride’s aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Lauck, with only members of the immediate families present. Dr. Philip C. King, president of Washburn College, read the service.

    Palms and garden flowers decorated the rooms.

    The attractive bride wore a white knitted two-piece dress with navy blue accessories and a corsage bouquet of gardenias and roses.

    Mr. Lauck and his bride left immediately following the service on a short wedding trip. They will return Tuesday and leave immediately for Palo Alto, Calif., where they will make their home this winter.

    The bride is a graduate of the Vail School of Nursing at Christ’s Hospital and attended Washburn College where she was college nurse. Later she took a course in nursing education at the University of Chicago and for the past two years has been an instructor at the nursing school at Christ’s Hospital.

    Mr. Lauck was graduated last June from Washburn College and this winter will attend the school of business at Leland Stanford University at Palo Alto.

    Isaac Streight Lauck IV
    ROSSVILLE – Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Rossville for Isaac Streight Lauck IV, 81, Woodland, Calif. He died May 17, 1990, at a Woodland hospital.

    Mr. Lauck was an office manager 33 years for Safeco Insurance Co., mostly in the San Francisco Bay area, before he retired in 1970.

    He was born May 8, 1909, in Topeka, the son of Isaac Streight Lauck III and Louise Lauck. He was graduated from Rossville High School and Washburn University in Topeka. He also was graduated from Leland Stanford Jr. Graduate School of Business at Palo Alto, Calif.

    Mr. Lauck was a member of Blue Lakes Masonic Lodge at San Bruno, Calif.

    He was married to Beth Stalker Aug 14, 1937, in Topeka. She survives.

    Other survivors include two sons, Richard Abbott Lauck, Eureka, Calif., and John Elliott Lauck, Fairfield, Calif.; a sister, Virginia Louise Johnson, Bartlesville, Okla.; six grandchildren; and four great-granddaughters.

    Mr. Lauck was cremated. Inurnment will be in Delia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. McNary’s Chapel in Woodland, Calif., was in charge of California arrangements. Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys is in charge of Kansas arrangement.

    Isaac Streight Lauck IV, 81, died Thursday, May 17, 1990, in Woodland Memorial Hospital, Woodland, Calif. He was a native of Topeka.

    Mr. Lauck graduated from Rossville High School, Washburn University in Topeka, and the Leland Stanford Graduate School of Business, Palo Alto, Calif. He worked for Safeco Insurance Company in office management for 33 years, spending most of his working life in the San Francisco Bay area. He retired to Woodland in 1970. He was a member of Blue Lakes Masonic Lodge, San Bruno, Calif.

    He is survived by his wife, Beth (Stalker) Lauck, Woodland, Calif.; two sons, Richard Abbott Lauck and his wife, Beverly, Eureka, Calif., and John Elliott Lauck and his wife, Elaine, Fairfield, Calif.; one sister, Virginia Louise Johnson and her husband Lathel M., Bartlesville, Okla.; six grandchildren; and four great-granddaughters.

    A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16, at 10:30 a.m. at the Rossville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Kallous officiating. Burial will be in the Delia Cemetery.

    The family prefers that memorials be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
