He was employed by Hereford Bros, and Hichins Foundry, Waterloo, IA, for 34 years and retired from the John Deere Component Works in 1983. He was married to LaVerna Bryant in 1939. She survives. Other survivors are a daughter, Mary Jo Gauger, Cedar Falls, IA; a brother, Jack Murphy, St. Marys; three sisters, Edna Greishaber and Golda Caudill, St. Marys, and Betty Knoebber, Shawnee Mission; three grand-children, Cedar Falls, IA. Services were 2 p.m. Monday, December 21, in Reinbeck, IA. Arrangements were handled by French Hand Funeral Home, Reinbeck, IA.
