John M. Murrow, 83, early Kansas settler, died early Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walter Summer at Delia. He was born October 20, 1854, at Montezuma, Iowa. Murrow was married to Hattie A. De Bordin in 1880. Murrow and his wife came to Kansas in 1884 and settled on a farm near Delia. He was a resident of that community until the death of his wife in 1935. Since that time he has made his home with his children.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Delia and the United Brethren Church.
Murrow is survived by two sons, John A. and R. A. Murrow of Topeka; three daughters, Mrs. Rollo West, Anaheim, Calif.; Mrs. Walter Summer of Delia, and Mrs. Ira Wood of Mayetta; one sister, Mrs. Anna Holt, Montezuma, Iowa; twenty-four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, from the Adrean [sic Adrian] Church, six miles northwest of Delia, with interment in Adrean [sic Adrian] Cemetery.
