    Roy A. Murry
    Roy A. Murry, 88, Salina, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 1983, at a Salina Hospital.

    He was born August 19, 1895, at Delia, the son of John T. Murry and Mary O'Neil Murry. He lived in Delia until 1941; St. Marys from 1941 to 1954; Topeka from 1954 to 1982. He then moved to Salina.

    Mr. Murry was a bridge contractor in Jackson county during the earlier part of his life. In the more recent years he did custom masonry in the St. Marys area. He was a honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 657, St. Marys, and belonged to St. Mary's Queen of Universe Catholic Church in Salina.

    He was married April 29, 1930, in St. Marys, to Elizabeth Nason. She survives.

    Other survivors include two sons, Roy V. Murry and Dr. John P. Murry, both of Salina; two daughters, Elizabeth L. Johnson, Topeka, and Mary Ann Swerczek, Lexington, Ky.; one sister, Kathryn McNeive, Topeka; 23 grandchildren. Two daughters preceded him in death, an infant daughter Mary Murry, and Alice Siebert, May 26, 1982.

    A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Verschelden Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, St. Marys. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

    ST. MARYS - Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church here for Roy A. Murry, 88, Salina, formerly of Topeka, who died Sunday, Dec. 4, at a Salina Hospital.

    Mr. Murry was a bridge contractor in Jackson county many years. He later was a self-employed stone mason.

    He was born Aug. 19, 1895, at Delia, the son of John T. and Mary Josephine O'Neil Murry. He moved to St. Marys in 1941 and to Topeka in 1954. He moved to Salina in 1982.

    He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Salina and an honorary life member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 657 at St. Marys.

    He was married to Elizabeth Noonan April 29, 1930, at St. Marys. She survives. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Murry and Alice Siebert.

    Other survivors include two sons, Roy V. Murry and John P. Murry, both of Salina; two daughters, Elizabeth L. Johnson, Topeka, and Mary Ann Swerczek, Lexington, Ky.; a sister, Kathryn McNeive, Topeka; and 23 grandchildren.

    Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys.
