    Obituary- Myers, Grace 1
    Mrs. Grace E. Myers
Grace Elizabeth Sanders was born December 13, 1866, at Medora, Indiana. She came to Kansas with her parents at the age of two years locating on the Sanders home place northwest of Rossville.

On February 1, 1886, she was united in marriage to Martin E. Myers and they went to the present home site, where they have lived all the intervening years, and where she died, December 7, at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 24 days. Had she lived until February 1, next, they would have celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Myers was one who enjoyed being of service to others. No children were born to them, but in the course of the years, they adopted four boys, and young lives always brought out the best in her nature. She was always kind, thoughtful and affectionate.

She is survived by her husband, M.E. Myers; one brother, William Sanders of Rossville; three adopted sons, Paul Small of Eskridge, Cyrus Shuck of Chester, Oklahoma, and John Gill of Olathe. Jesse Smith, the fourth adopted boy, died a few years ago.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church, Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. Horton. Music was furnished by a ladies' quartette composed of Mrs. E.G. Griswold, Mrs. A.G. Wallerstedt Mrs. E.E. Witter and Evelyn Landis, accompanied by Miss Edith Higginbotham. Pallbearers were M.L. Whearty, H.E. McCollough, E.W. Vorhies, Sherman James, J.M. Lillard and Frank Page. Burial was made in the Rossville Cemetery.
