    Mrs. Rose Myers announces the marriage of her son Vernon F. Myers to Ella Lynch, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. F.J. Pekarek of Topeka.

    The wedding took place at the Methodist parsonage in Highland Park, with the Rev. Earl Harbour officiating.

    Only members of the immediate family were present including his mother, Mrs. Rose Myers, his sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cochran.

    After a short wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Myers will make their home in Rossville with his mother.

    Vernon Myers
    Vernon Myers, 77, Rossville died Sunday, Sept. 25, at a Topeka hospital.

    He was born Feb. 11, 1906, the son of Thaddeus and Rose Page Myers. He spent most of his life in the Rossville community.

    Mr. Myers was a member of the Golden Agers and Senior Citizens, both in Rossville.

    He was married to Ella Pekarek May 5,1951, at Topeka. She survives.

    Other survivors include a stepson, Merrill Lynch, Topeka; a brother, Clark Myers, Decatur, Ga.; and two sisters, Mrs. Gwen McAfee, Decatur, Ala., and Mrs. Mildred Fisher, Topeka.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Presbyterian Church in Rossville. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Myers will lie in state from 9 a.m. Tuesday until noon Wednesday at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys and from 1 p.m. Wednesday until service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3003 Van Buren, 66611.

    Vernon Myers, 77, Rossville, died Sunday, September 25, 1983, at a Topeka hospital.
