    Obituary- Lillard, James H.
    Obituary- Lillard, James H.
James Henry Lillard was born May 15, 1851, at Barry, Mo., thirteen miles north of Kansas City, on the line between Platt and Clay County and died Thursday, July 29, at the age of 64 years, 2 months and 14 days. At the age of five years he came with his parents to Kansas. On July 11, 1872 he was united in marriage to Mary Jones at Holton Kansas, to which union ten children were born, eight of whom with his widow survive him.

Thomas M., died in infancy and Mrs. Lucy Dunaway died in 1908. While living at Topeka in 1911, Mr. Lillard united with the Advent church, and was a most consistent observer of its doctrines until his death. His funeral sermon was delivered by Elder W, H. Clark, of Topeka, and was one of comfort and hope to his bereaved family. The funeral was held in the Roseville Methodist church Saturday afternoon, July 31, and the interment was made in the Rossville cemetery.
