  Obituary- Lister, Lloyd Lloyd Verd Lister Sr. Lloyd Verd Lister Sr., 79, Topeka, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, in a Topeka hospital. Mr. Lister worked for the Shawnee County Road and Bridge Department for 22 years before he retired He also owned and operated Lloyd's Lawnmower Repair in North Topeka the past 18 years. He was born Sept. 27,1918, in Eskridge, the son of Hugh and Marie Valentine Lister. He grew up in Rossville, and he had lived most of his life in Topeka. He married Naomi M. Turman on Feb. 11, 1944, in Topeka. She died Dec. 19, 1968. He married Rachel L. Cott Martin on Nov. 15, 1969, in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Lloyd “Skip" Lister Jr. and Walter L. Lister, both of Topeka, and Ronald L. Lister, Carbondale; four daughters, Judy K„ Highsmith, Linda L. Gerhardt, Mary M. Haid and Wanda S. Lister, all of Topeka; a brother, Ernie Lister, Topeka; a sister, Bessie Manis, Auburn; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at I p.m. Wednesday in Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Lister will lie in state after 1 p.m. Tuesday in the mortuary where relatives find friends will meet from 7;30 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3625 S.W. 29th, Topeka, 66614.
