    WEST UNION NOTES
    Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Miller of Silver Lake announce the marriage of their daughter, Ruth, to Mr. Cecil E. Lloyd, also of Silver Lake. The wedding took place Saturday evening, December 19, at the residence of Rev. G. G. Horne, in Topeka, who read the marriage service. Miss Violet McRoberts of Topeka and Mr. John Miller of Silver Lake were the attendants. The wedding music was furnished by Mr. George Horne.

    The bride wore a light navy wool suit with white satin blouse. Her peaked turban was of matching blue and her flowers a shoulder corsage of pink roses.

    Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd are both graduates of the Rossville high school. They will make their home on a farm southwest of Willard after the first of the year.

    Mr. and Mrs. Carl Brooks, and Mrs. L. G. Stewart of Oklahoma City are spending the holidays in this community. The former with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Brooks at Willard and the latter with her daughter, Mrs. W. Miller and other relatives.

    Cecil E. Lloyd
    WILLARD — Cecil E. Lloyd, 80, Willard, died Saturday, May 14, 1994, at a Topeka hospital.

    Mr. Lloyd was a carpenter. He worked at the Highland Mill Shop in Topeka eight years and then several year for the Rinner Construction Co.

    He was born Oct. 1, 1913, on a farm near Willard. He was graduated from Rossville High School and had lived in Topeka four years, Dover four years and in Willard for 42 years.

    He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville, Kan Openers Camping Club and a 50-year member of the Carpenters Union Local No. 1445.

    He was married to Ruth T. Miller in 1936 in Topeka. She died Jan. 29, 1944. He was married to Helen M. Radke on July 20, 1944, in Lawrence. She survives.

    Other survivors include three sons, Edward W. Lloyd. Silver Lake, James R. Lloyd, Rossville, and William D. Lloyd, Willard; a daughter, Sandra S. Tomson, Rossville; a brother, Clyde C. Lloyd, Auburn; a sister, Hazel Olson, Rossville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

    Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Lloyd will lie in state after noon today at the funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Building Fund, Rossville, 66533.
