    Viteal N. “Bud” Lundin

    Viteal N. “Bud” Lundin, 81, Mayetta, died Sunday, November 22, 1992, at his home.

    Mr. Lundin was a farmer and stockman. He also drove a bus for Unified School District No. 337 in Mayetta several years and was a school crossing guard for several years.

    He was an Army veteran of World War II.

    He was born October 31, 1911, near Mayetta, the son of Hans and Maud Stregel Lundin and spent his life in the Mayetta area.

    Mr. Lundin was a member of Prairie Band of the Potawatomi Tribe and the Kansas Horseshoe Association. He played a fiddle for many round and square dances in the area.

    He was married to Mary F. Marstorf November 7, 1946, in Hiawatha. She survives.

    Other survivors include a son, John Ray Lundin, King’s Mountain, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Thora Armstrong, Rossville; four sisters, Mary Wilson, Ann Lytle and Julia Margaret “Margie” Fox, all of Holton, and Lena Fleeman, Topeka; two brothers, Eric Lundin, Topeka, and Frank “Jack” Lundin, Mayetta; and a granddaughter.

    Services were 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial was in Mayetta Cemetery.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and sent in care of the Denison State Bank in Holton, 66436, or Hoyt, 66440.

    service time at the funeral home.
