    Mr. and Mrs. Chester Lutz, Holton and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Lutz, Silver Lake, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversaries with a double reception from 2-5 p.m., Sept. 29 at the Holiday Inn West, Topeka. Hosts for the occasion will be their children and families: Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Lutz, Holton; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lutz, Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Ronal Lutz, Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Karl Simecka, Boulder City, Nev.; and MR. and Mrs. Jack Wallace Topeka.

    Ethel Sumner and Chester Lutz were married Sept. 14, 1935, in Holton. They lived in the Delia-Mayetta community for 35 years, before moving to Holton in 1970.

    Garnet Wood and Lester Lutz were married July 10, 1935, in Lyndon. They lived in the Delia-Mayetta community until 1970, when they moved to Silver Lake.

    The couples request no gifts.

    Chester Lutz
    Chester Lutz, 83, Holton, died Wednesday, January 1,1997, at the Holton Community Hospital.

    He was born April 4, 1913, at Holton, the son of John F. and Carrie Elizabeth Montgomery Lutz. He graduated from Denison High School, with the class of 1931.

    Mr. Lutz was a farmer and a stockman west of Mayetta until he retired in 1970.

    He married Ethel J. Sumner September 14, 1935, at Holton. She survives.

    He was preceded in death by nine brothers and one sister.

    In addition to his wife, he is also survived by three brothers, Ronald Lutz and Larry Lutz, both of Topeka, and Jerry D. Lutz, Holton; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

    Family and friends met at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday. His funeral service was at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Holton. Burial was in the Delia Cemetery.

    Memorials are suggested to the Holton Community Hospital Building Fund and sent in care of the Kansas State Bank, Holton.

    Chester Lutz
    HOLTON — Chester Lutz, 83, Holton, died Wednesday, Jan. 1,1997, at a Holton hospital.

    Mr. Lutz was a farmer and stockman west of Mayetta until 1970.

    He was born April 4,1913, at Holton, the son of John F, and Carrie Elizabeth Montgomery Lutz. He was graduated from Denison High School in 1931.

    He was married to Ethel J. Sumner on Sept. 14, 1935, at Holton. She survives.

    Other survivors include three sons, Ronald Lutz and Larry Lutz, both of Topeka, and Jerry D. Lutz, Holton; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

    Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Holton. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Delia Cemetery in Delia. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton.

    Memorial contributions may be made to Holton Community Hospital and sent in care of Kansas State Bank.
