| Anniversary- Griswold, Edgar and Nettie 1 GRISWOLD’S FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY
A reunion and dinner was sponsored by the family of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Griswold, Tuesday, December 28th, in the rose room of the Hotel Jayhawk in Topeka, in honor of the Golden Wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Griswold. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Griswold, of Rossville; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie H. Griswold and Betty Jean of Shawnee, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Sherwin B. Griswold, Dale, Mary and Don, of Newton, Kan; Mr. and Mrs. George E. Ryder of Independence, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Lyon, Bruce, Duane and Richard, of Newton, Kansas.
The party was continued at Rossville until Wednesday, when they dispersed to their various homes.

Griswold and Don of Newton, Kansas, Dr. and Mrs. Dale Griswold of Newton, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Lyon, Bruce, Duane, and Richard of Newton, Kansas.
The family gathering was in celebration of the 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Griswold, who were married sixty years ago here in Rossville.

| Marriage- Griswold, Lucille-Lyon, Wayne GRISWOLD—LYON
Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Griswold announce the marriage of their daughter, Lucille, to Mr. Wayne Lyon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Lyon, of Admire, Kansas. The wedding took place May 28, at 11 a. m. at Lebo, Kansas.
The ceremony was performed by Rev. Emory Dains, former pastor at Admire, in the presence of the immediate families. Before the ceremony Miss Leona Griswold and Miss Ione Lyon sang “At Dawning” and “I Love You Truly.”
The bride wore a navy blue marquisette dress with natural linen accessories. Her corsage was of Talisman roses and sweet peas.
Mrs. Lyon took most of her college work at Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia. She has been teaching for the past year at Newton, Kansas. Mr. Lyon is a graduate of Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia and has been teaching at [missing rest]

| Obituary- Lyon, Harriet Harriet Lucille Lyon
CARROLLTON, GA - Harriet Lucille Lyon, age 97; homemaker, musician and teacher, died on August 3 at the Haralson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bremen, GA where she resided in her later years near her son Bruce and his family. She was born July 27, 1913 in Rossville, KS, the daughter of Edgar and Nettie (Howard) Griswold, both deceased. She was married to Wayne Ivan Lyon of Admire, KS for 52 years.
Survivors include three sons and wives, Bruce and Katherine Lyon of Carrollton, GA, Duane and Shirley Lyon of Redding, CA, Richard Lyon and Emma Groethe of Boston Heights, OH, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leslie, Edgar and Sherwin Griswold, and a sister, Leona Ryder.
The memorial service will be at Peterson’s Funeral Home in Newton on August 21 at 10:30 a.m. preceded by family visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in Rossville Township Cemetery with a brief graveside service at 3:30 p.m.
