Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Griswold announce the marriage of their daughter, Lucille, to Mr. Wayne Lyon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Lyon, of Admire, Kansas. The wedding took place May 28, at 11 a. m. at Lebo, Kansas.
The ceremony was performed by Rev. Emory Dains, former pastor at Admire, in the presence of the immediate families. Before the ceremony Miss Leona Griswold and Miss Ione Lyon sang “At Dawning” and “I Love You Truly.”
The bride wore a navy blue marquisette dress with natural linen accessories. Her corsage was of Talisman roses and sweet peas.
Mrs. Lyon took most of her college work at Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia. She has been teaching for the past year at Newton, Kansas. Mr. Lyon is a graduate of Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia and has been teaching at [missing rest]

NEWTON — Wayne I. Lyon, 74, Newton, died Friday, Sept. 21, 1990, at his home.
Mr. Lyon was an elementary school principal, junior high school industrial arts instructor, head of Newton Senior High School Industrial Arts Department and was supervisor of building and grounds of Central Kansas Area Vocational Technical School at Newton.
He was born Dec. 11, 1915, at Admire, the son of Glenn and Bessie Lyon. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Emporia State Teachers College, a master's degree from Greeley State College, Greeley, Colo., and did graduate work at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Kansas State University at Manhattan and Pittsburg State University.
Mr. Lyon was a member of First United Methodist Church, past president of Newton Lions Club, member of Newton Arts Association, Newton Retired Teachers Association, Kansas-National Education Association and National Retired Teachers Association.
He was married to Harriet Lucille Griswold May 28, 1938. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Bruce Lyon, Carrollton, Ga., Duane Lyon, Redding, Calif., and Richard Lyon, Cleveland Heights, Ohio; two sisters, Lois Lyon and lone Lyon, both of Abilene; five grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Petersen's Funeral Home at Newton. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Rossville, Township Cemetery at Rossville. Mr. Lyon will lie in state from 3 until 9 p.m. today and 1 until 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church Music Department or American Diabetes Association.
