| Obituary- Lysek, Joseph Joseph L. Lysek
Joseph L. Lysek, 69, Topeka, died Sunday in a Topeka nursing home.
He was born March 6, 1913, in Delia, the son of Louis and Mary Teresa Simecka Lysek. He lived in the Emmett community until 1965 when he moved to Topeka. He was a retired farmer.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served 28 months in the Pacific.
He was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council No. 534; and North Post No. 400 of the American Legion, all in Topeka.
He was married to Irene K. Kahler Oct. 15, 1946, in Topeka. She survives. A son, Michael Lysek, died April 16, 1977.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Teresa Lyall, Dayton, Ohio, and Mrs. Paulette Coffman, Topeka; three sisters, Mrs. Catherine Dietrich, Wichita, Mrs. Lucille Freeman, La Puente, Calif., and Mrs. Pauline DeVader, Emmett; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Emmett. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys. Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. today at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. |
