    Miss Rosa Hejtmanek and Mr. Geo. Olejnik, young people from the Bohemian neighborhood, were married by the probate judge at his office in Topeka Tuesday. The customary celebration of the event will be held at the Olejnik home tomorrow.

    ON WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
    A family get-to-gether was held Sunday, October 3, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik Sr. in honor of their 46th wedding anniversary which was October 6th.

    Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Olejnik and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Olejnik also had wedding anniversaries on the 6th which were celebrated Sunday.

    Refreshments of ice cream and cake were served to the following: Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Olejnik and Linda, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Olejnik and Robert, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Olejnik and Charlotte, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Pressgrove, Karen, Shirley and Ronald, Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik Jr., Joyce and Patricia, Mrs. Georgi Anne Davis and Richard, Mr. Rudolf Olejnik, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Koontz and Cheryl Kay. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Donly were unable to attend.

    Celebrate 47 wedding anniversary
    OCTOBER 27, 1955
    Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik, Sr. celebrated their wedding anniversary on October 9. They were married 47 years ago on October 6.

    A family gathering was held at their home. A three tiered, decorated cake and home made ice cream were served. The cake was baked by two of their daughters, Mrs. Georgianne Davis and Mrs. William Koontz.

    The following were present: Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik Sr., Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik Jr., Patricia and Joyce of Delia, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Pressgrove, Karen and Ronnie, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Olejnik and Bobby, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Olejnik and Linda, Rudolf and Henry Olejnik, all of Rossville, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Koontz and Cheryl, Mrs. Georgianne Davis and Richard, Miss Shirley Pressgrove and Mr. A1 Dietrich all of Topeka.

    Mrs. Henry Oleinik and Charlotte of Rossville and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Donly and Deborah of St. Joseph, Mo. were unable to attend.

    Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary
    Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik Sr. celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home in Delia, Kansas, October 5, 1958. They were married October 6, 1908, at Topeka.

    Mr. and Mrs. Olejnik retired from the farm in 1955 when they moved to Delia. Before their retirement, they had spent all of their married life on a farm in the Rossville vicinity.

    Mrs. Olejnik was born in Moravia, Czechoslovakia, and came to the United States at the age of eleven. Mr. Olejnik was born at Rossville and lived in the community until he and Mrs. Olejnik moved to Delia, where they still reside.

    They have nine children and sixteen grandchildren. The children are: George Jr. of Delia. Rudolf, Henry, William and Edward of Rossville, Mrs. Agnes Koontz, Mrs. Georgianne Davis of Topeka, Mrs. Helen Donly of St. Joseph, Mo., and Mrs. Josephine Pressgrove of Rossville.

    OLEJINEK—PRESSGROVE
    Mr. and Mrs. George Olejinek [sic Olejnik] announce the marriage of their daughter, Josephine, to Mr. Leroy Press grove, son of Mr. and Mrs. U. S. Pressgrove of Grove, on Thursday, January 31. The marriage was solemnized in Topeka.

    Mrs. Pressgrove was raised in the Delia neighborhood and attended the Delia schools. She is an unusually attractive, brown-eyed, blond, well known in Rossville, Delia and Silver Lake communities.

    Mr. Pressgrove attended the Silver Lake schools and has many friends who wish he and his bride much happiness.

    They will be at home after March 1st on a farm one and one-fourth miles east of Walnut Hill.

    Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Pressgrove, Wamego, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 3 in the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall, 6th and Lincoln, Wamego.

    Children of the couple are Shirley Rosser, Dinuba, Calif.; Karen and Myron Figge, Wamego; and Ronald and Margie Pressgrove. The couple has 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

    LeRoy Pressgrove and Josephine Olejnik were married Jan. 31, 1935. Mr. Pressgrove is retired from the Union Pacific Railroad.

    Rossville- Josephine Pressgrove, 100, passed away
    Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Rossville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Rossville.

    She was born December 28, 1912 to George and Rosie Hejtmanek Olejnik of Rossville. She spent most of her life in the Rossville, Wamego and Topeka areas and attended Victor 101 School. Josephine was married to LeRoy Pressgrove on January 31, 1935. They were married for 57 years. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1992. She was recently preceded in death by two of her three children, Karen Figge and Ronald Pressgrove. Four siblings also preceded her in death; brothers, George, Rudy, Henry and Ed Olejnik. Also, preceding her in death are a son-in-law, Jake Rosser; one grandchild, Timothy Rosser and one great-great-grandson Anthony Rosser.

    Josephine was a homemaker and loved cooking, gardening, crocheting and sewing. She was noted for her delicious Kolaches and always had her Seek-A-Word close at hand. She graduated from the Menniger Bible Study and was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church. She was a life member of the ZCBJ Lodge.

    Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Rosser, Duncan, OK; a son-in-law, Myron Figge, Topeka; a brother, William Olejnik, Rossville; sisters, Georgeanne Davis and Agnes Wike, both of Topeka and Helen Donly, St. Joseph, MO; 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

    Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Czech Moravian Cemetery, Rossville. Mrs. Pressgrove will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the ZCBJ Lodge and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple, St. Marys, KS. 66536. Online condolences may be sent to www.piperfuneralhome.com.

    Josephine Pressgrove celebrated her 90th birthday as guest of honor at a surprise family luncheon.

    Hosts were her three sisters, Helen Donly, St. Joseph, Mo., and Georgianne Davis and Agnes Wike, both of Topeka.

    Mrs. Pressgrove was born Dec. 28, 1912, in Rossville. She lived in the Silver Lake and Rossville areas until she moved to Topeka 12 years ago.

    She married LeRoy Pressgrove Jan. 31, 1935. Mr. Pressgrove died Nov. 12, 1992.

    She has three children, Shirley Rosser, Dinuba, Calif., and Karen Figge and Ronald Pressgrove, both of Topeka; 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
