    Miss Rosa Hejtmanek and Mr. Geo. Olejnik, young people from the Bohemian neighborhood, were married by the probate judge at his office in Topeka Tuesday. The customary celebration of the event will be held at the Olejnik home tomorrow.

    ON WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
    A family get-to-gether was held Sunday, October 3, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik Sr. in honor of their 46th wedding anniversary which was October 6th.

    Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Olejnik and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Olejnik also had wedding anniversaries on the 6th which were celebrated Sunday.

    Refreshments of ice cream and cake were served to the following: Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Olejnik and Linda, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Olejnik and Robert, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Olejnik and Charlotte, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Pressgrove, Karen, Shirley and Ronald, Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik Jr., Joyce and Patricia, Mrs. Georgi Anne Davis and Richard, Mr. Rudolf Olejnik, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Koontz and Cheryl Kay. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Donly were unable to attend.

    Celebrate 47 wedding anniversary
    OCTOBER 27, 1955
    Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik, Sr. celebrated their wedding anniversary on October 9. They were married 47 years ago on October 6.

    A family gathering was held at their home. A three tiered, decorated cake and home made ice cream were served. The cake was baked by two of their daughters, Mrs. Georgianne Davis and Mrs. William Koontz.

    The following were present: Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik Sr., Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik Jr., Patricia and Joyce of Delia, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Pressgrove, Karen and Ronnie, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Olejnik and Bobby, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Olejnik and Linda, Rudolf and Henry Olejnik, all of Rossville, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Koontz and Cheryl, Mrs. Georgianne Davis and Richard, Miss Shirley Pressgrove and Mr. A1 Dietrich all of Topeka.

    Mrs. Henry Oleinik and Charlotte of Rossville and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Donly and Deborah of St. Joseph, Mo. were unable to attend.

    Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary
    Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik Sr. celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home in Delia, Kansas, October 5, 1958. They were married October 6, 1908, at Topeka.

    Mr. and Mrs. Olejnik retired from the farm in 1955 when they moved to Delia. Before their retirement, they had spent all of their married life on a farm in the Rossville vicinity.

    Mrs. Olejnik was born in Moravia, Czechoslovakia, and came to the United States at the age of eleven. Mr. Olejnik was born at Rossville and lived in the community until he and Mrs. Olejnik moved to Delia, where they still reside.

    They have nine children and sixteen grandchildren. The children are: George Jr. of Delia. Rudolf, Henry, William and Edward of Rossville, Mrs. Agnes Koontz, Mrs. Georgianne Davis of Topeka, Mrs. Helen Donly of St. Joseph, Mo., and Mrs. Josephine Pressgrove of Rossville.

    Agnes Wike

    Agnes Wike will celebrate her 80th birthday with her family Feb. 23, 2008.

    She retired from Santa Fe Railway in 1989 after 33 years of service.

    Agnes has two daughters, Cheryl Buxton, Topeka, and Marilyn Koontz, Roeland Park; one son, Will Koontz and his wife, Tara, Daytona Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Ryan, Cullowhee, N.C.; Tyler and Tara Montana, Daytona Beach.

    Obituary- Wike, Agnes
    Agnes (Olejnik) (Koontz) Wike, 91 of Topeka, passed away peacefully Dec. 17, 2019 with her children by her side. She was born on February 21, 1928 in Rossville, Kansas, the daughter of George and Rosie Olejnik. She attended Victor 101 School, a one room school house now located at Ward Mead Park and Rossville High School. Agnes was employed by Santa Fe Railroad for 32 years before retiring in 1989.

    Agnes loved her family, sewing, baking, flowers, Seek-A-Word puzzles and an occasional bingo/casino night. She enjoyed collecting dolls and lady head vases. Cooking was her passion and she was forever trying a new recipe or enjoying a new cookbook. She also loved watching KU basketball games. Her fortitude and determination served her well during her lifetime. Her mottos were "get your work done before you play" and "when times are tough, things will be better tomorrow".

    She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers George, Rudolf, Henry, Bill, Ed and sisters Josephine, Georgianne and Helen. She is survived by daughter Cheryl Buxton (late Dan Buxton) of Topeka, daughter Marilyn Koontz of Topeka and son William Koontz of Port Orange, Florida. Grandchildren Ryan (Erica) Koontz of Topeka, Tyler (Shea) Koontz of Statesboro, Georgia and Tara Montana Koontz of Port Orange, Florida and great grandchildren Brynlee and Henley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

    Cremation is planned and per her wishes no public service will be held. Private interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to The House at Midland Care, 120 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606 or Helping Hands Humane Society Inc. 5720 SW 21st, Topeka, KS 66604.

    The family would like to thank the staff at The House at Midland Care for the loving and compassionate care they provided for our mother and our family during this difficult time.
