Karen Kay Oliver age 58 of Topeka, Kansas died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at her home.
She was born September 4, 1946 in Great Bend, Kansas the daughter of Ulan Gene and Ruth L. Lemon Leeper. She grew up in Hudson, Kansas and graduated from Hudson Rural High School in 1964. She attended Brown Mackie Business School in Salina. She also attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
Mrs. Oliver was a secretary all of her life and had worked for the State of Kansas in the Department of Human Resources for many years. She was married to Larry Gene Oliver on August 16,1968 at Maple Hill, he passed away May 15,1988.
Survivors include two sons, Jason Hamilton Oliver, Maple Hill, Scott Mathew Oliver, Topeka; a daughter, Danielle Renee Oliver, Buffalo, Kansas; two sisters, Rita Beckner, Rossville, Deb Crawford, Topeka; five brothers, Leslie Leeper, Carson City, NV, Mike Leeper, Tonganoxie, KS, Pat Leeper, Topeka, Mick Leeper, Topeka, Tom Leeper, Rossville; grandchildren Abby, Cade and Eli Oliver and Austin and Dakota Droegemeier.
Services 3:00 P.M. Thursday, September 1, 2005 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys.
Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Oliver will lie in state after 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at the funeral home where family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and sent in care of the funeral home.
