John D. Parr of Rossville and Miss Florence [sic Florance] Steffee, of Auburn, were granted a marriage licence Monday and the ceremony was performed yesterday. John is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Parr of Rossville township and was raised in this vicinity. Mrs. Parr comes from a prominent family living near Dover and is reported a charming young lady. The young couple will make their home here. |

| Obituary- Parr, John JOHN D. PARR
John D. Parr, 57, 1030 Popular Topeka, died Tuesday afternoon in a Topeka, hospital. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. this Thursday at the Rossville Christian church.
Services were conducted by Rev. Don Jones, and music was furnished by Mrs. Alice Boyd, Mrs. Inez Richard son and Mrs. Irene Campbell.
Burial was in Rossville Cemetery.
Mr. Parr was born near Rossville, February 5, 1892, and spent most of his life in Rossville community, until two and one-half years ago, when he went to Topeka. He married Florence Steffee on July 29, 1914. He served in the Navy during World War I.
He leaves, besides his wife, Mrs. Florence Parr, two sons, Glenn Parr of Onaga, and William Parr of Topeka; two brothers, Shirley Parr and Joe Parr of Rossville, and three grand children, Marlin, Darrell and Sandra Parr, all of Topeka.
