    Thane C. Parr
    ROSSVILLE — Thane C. Parr, 57, Rossville, died Friday, May 5, 1995, at a Topeka hospital.

    Mr. Parr was a machinist for Western Resources at the Jeffrey Energy Center. He had worked for Chalmers Co. from 1955 to 1973. He was an Army veteran.

    He was born Aug. 26, 1937, at Rossville, the son of Joe D. and Donic L. Patton Parr. He was graduated from Rossville High School in 1955.

    Mr. Parr was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at Rossville, Topeka North Post No. 400 of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, and the International Association of Machinists Union.

    He was married to Carol Ludwig on Jan. 5, 1957, at Topeka. She survives.

    Other survivors include two sisters, Jeannine Thompson, Dover, and Joleen Parr, Rossville; and two brothers, David Parr, Topeka, and Clyde Parr, Ottawa.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Rossville. Burial with military graveside services conducted by Post 400 of the American Legion will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Parr will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today.

    Thane C. Parr
    Thane C. Parr, 57, Rossville, died Friday, May 5, 1995, at a Topeka hospital.

    He was born August 26, 1937, at Rossville, the son of Joe D. and Donic L. Patton Parr. He grew up in the community and had lived most of his life in the Rossville area.

    He was graduated from Rossville High School in 1955.

    He was married to Carol Ludwig January 5, 1957, at Topeka. She survives.

    Mr. Parr was a machinist for Western Resources at the Jeffrey Energy Center. Before that, he worked for Allis Chalmers Company in Topeka from 1955 until 1973. He served in the United States Army.

    He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. He was a member of Topeka North Post No. 400 of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, Topeka, and the International Association of Machinist Union.

    In addition to his wife, Mr. Parr is survived by two sisters, Jeannine Thompson, Dover, and Joleen Parr, Rossville; and two brothers, David Parr, Topeka, and Clyde Parr, Ottawa.

    A rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:00 Monday morning at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Ross¬ville. Interment, with a military graveside service conducted by North Topeka Post No. 400 of the American Legion, was in Rossville Cemetery.

    Memorials can be made to, the Kansas Dialysis Center, 634 S.W. Mulvane, Topeka, or sent in care of the funeral home in St. Marys.
