ROSSVILLE — Eugene R. “Pat” Pattison,
70, Rossville, died Wednesday, May 6,1998, at a Rossville nursing home.
Mr. Pattison was a technician and test man for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 28 years before he retired. He also farmed in the Rossville area. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was born Oct. 14,1927, at Salina, the son of James Pattison and Lora Maxwell- Pattison.
Mr. Pattison was a member of Telephone Pioneers.
He was married to Arlie Smith on June 14, 1952, at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Steve Pattison, Edwardsville, 111., Ronald Pattison, Norman, Okla., and Ricky Pattison, Topeka; eight daughters, Dyan Maiden, in Florida, Pamela Rathbun and Terri Mack, both of Topeka, Susan Culbertson, Colby, Laura Uhler, Wakarusa, Molly Clouston, Ballwin, Mo., Karen Royer, Tecumseh, and Jackie Hoff, Jennings, Mo.; a brother. Wilbur Pattison, Harlan, Iowa; a sister, Rosemary Kasey, McPherson; 25 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Pattison was preceded in death by a son, Randy Pattison, Aug. 27, 1995.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bowser-Johnson Funeral Chapel in Topeka. Inurnment is pending at Rochester Cemetery. Mr. Pattison will lie in state from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel, where relatives and friends will meet from 6 to 8 p.m.
