    Jack D. Perine
    Jack D. Perine, 68, Wamego, died Tuesday, October 21,1997, at the Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center in Topeka after a short illness. He was a lifetime resident of the Wamego area.

    He was born October 24,1928, at Wamego, the son of Leo F. and Bernice I. Hutchison Perine. He graduated from the Wamego High School and attended Kansas State University.

    Jack was a member of the Wamego United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at Kansas State University, and a former member of the Wamego Barber Shop Chorus and Lions Club, both of Wamego.

    Mr. Perine was an accountant for PR&W Electric Co-op Association for several years before working with Balderson’s, Inc. as an accountant and a computer programmer. He later was a self-employed computer programmer serving many of the area school districts, including Junction City, Manhattan, Wamego, Seaman, Olathe and Bonner Springs, and Lely Manufacturing Company in Independence, Mo. After semi-retiring, Jack provided programming services for Pottawatomie County during the last eight years.

    On June 18, 1950, Jack was united in marriage to Mary Jane “Tiny” Bledsoe at the Wamego United Methodist Church. They had shared over 47 years together. She survives.

    Other survivors include a son, S. Douglas Perine, Rossville, owner of Doug’s Healthmart and St. Marys Healthmart; a daughter, Susan Jane Nash, Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Norma Flawed, Overland Park; and four grandchildren.

    Family and friends met from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. His service was at 10:00 Saturday morning, at the funeral home with the Rev. David Miller officiating. Interment was in the Wamego City Cemetery.

    WAMEGO — Jack D. Perine, 68, Wamego, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997, at a Topeka hospital.

    Mr. Perine was an accountant for PR&W Electric Co-op Association for several years and later for Baldersons Inc., where he also was a computer programmer. He later was a self-employed computer programmer and had served school districts in Junction City, Manhattan, Wamego, Topeka, Olathe and Bonner Springs. He also contracted with Lely Manufacturing Co. in Independence, Mo., and he had provided programming services for Pottawatomie County since 1989.

    He was born Oct. 24, 1928, in Wamego, the son of Leo F. and Bernice I. Hutchison Perine. He was graduated from Wamego High School and he attended Kansas State University.

    Overland Park; and four grandchildren.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. Burial will be at the Wamego City Cemetery. Mr. Perine will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.
